About contribute Kenya

poster final - bg 1

The world is full of countless charities and social projects that one can donate money to. Even though they all have the best interest at heart and want to help people in different countries all over the world, their effectiveness can be quite questionable. ConTribute Kenya is a project initiated by the Honours students of the Hanze University. Our mission to make a change will be even more powerful when we approach it as a unified team.

With the support of Condor Airlines, us students will be in Kenya and make sure that all donations are used most efficiently. We have decided that our community project is not about raising money just to send to a Charity-Organization , but is about  sustainability, hands-on projects, the learning experience and creating a brighter future for children in Kenya.

Who are we?

‘ConTribute Kenya’ is a foundation run by an international team of highly motivated IBMS – business students of the Hanzehogeschool. We work on a wide range of sustainable projects that provide measurable help for communities in and around Mombasa, a region that urgently needs it.

In this initiative, we not only want to support charities from home, but to actively take part and make a change while in Kenya. We, as a business school, want to ensure our efforts are focused on social responsibility. We are all personally engaged in this project, and intend to continue empowering Kenya long after we have returned.

Past Work

Thanks to various sponsors and diligent work, some of our team went to Mombasa in the summer of 2013. We offered hands-on-work, which included creating a marketing plan for the Mombasa fire brigade, establishing an accounting system for the Blue Bell Nursery School, and offering business workshops for the St. Josephs House of Hope.

Funding

Condor Flugdienst GmbH, the mother firm which initiated the ConTribute program, has agreed to sponsor our flights and assist us with organizational project work and guide us so that we may be as efficient as possible. We will privately fund all costs concerning visas, equipment, healthcare and vaccinations.

We are hoping to fully implement new ideas and strengthen the support towards Mombasa once again in this summer. To make 2014 a success, we depend on your help! Our team still needs help to fund the costs needed for the projects in Kenya. So please engage in our activities or support us with even a small donation. Sponsorship opportunities for organizations are also available.
